Tarhe Run Farms was the center of activity in the early Ohio settlement which has become Lancaster, Ohio. It was the site of numerous early mills, and mills were the focal point of the community. The historic structure, built in 1810, which still stands on said premises was clearly a homestead for an important early pioneer family. It was a substantial structure, and still is. It was probably the first frame structure to stand on the premises. Anything prior was more in the nature of a log cabin. The home still has all its original woodwork and has been restored to its original condition.
